Before you apply, make sure you have the following:

  • 1x Jazz routine video
  • 1x Ballet routine video
    • These videos can be from festivals, practice at your studio, or dancing at home or in the garden. Given the recent situation, and with many dance studios and performance venues being closed, our panel will be very understanding when it comes to auditioned recorded at home. If you do not have a solo routine to perform, parts from duets or trios would be acceptable, as would exercises from grade-work. Feel free to show us your creative side!

Step 2

Upload your videos to using the following details:

  • Email to:
  • Your email: (make sure it’s the same you are applying on from)
  • Message: Name of parent/guardian and name of student.

If we do not receive your WeTransfer email, we may contact you to make sure the upload was successful.

Please do not attach your videos directly to an email as large files may be rejected by our inbox.

WeTransfer is our preferred method of file sharing, however we can also accept videos via DropBox and GoogleDrive.

In a word, Yes! Your files are encrypted when they are being transferred (TLS) and when they are stored (AES-256). Once your files are safely stored, they can only be accessed using the unique links sent to the sender and recipient.

During the applcation process videos are only accessed by DDA Staff and are password protected until the moment they are deleted after the audition outcome is decided.

Step 3

We will contact you by email when your application has been received and checked by a member of staff, please allow at least 2-3 working days for this acknowledgement.

In this acknoledgement email we will include the date at which the panel will be viewing auditions and the date by which you will recieve the outcome of your audition.
